Aftermath

The aftermath images of this tsunami truly show the destructive power that these natural disasters have. The bottom three images all show what what had happened during the barrage of waves and the days after, while the top image tells a different story. This picture was taken by the Google street

view car cataloging the pier of Sōma in 2013, two years after the tsunami hit. In the Images below, you can see how even after the tsunami has hit, the fieldsand homes have yet to be rebuilt. The port remains active, but as we have seen above there are still parts of it under repair or that have simply been abandoned.

Apologies for this image being out of alignment, but you can easily tell where the crop fields still remain too waterlogged to be used for agricultural purposes over six months after the tsunami flooded them.
